Can you feel it? The cooling temperatures and crunch in the air? It’s that time of year again — when folks all over are dusting off their dirndls and lederhosen and gearing up for one of the best festivals of the year: Oktoberfest! With polka music, beer tastings, warm pretzels, and fun, competitive events, Oktoberfest marks the beginning of the harvest season and is a whole lot of fun.

2024 Oktoberfest events in central Arizona

Greenwood Brewing’s Oktoberfest – Sept. 27-28. Ticket Price: FREE

Head to Greenwood’s Brewing on Sept. 27 and 28 for an epic (and FREE!) Oktoberfest celebration. You’ll enjoy delicious, authentic German food from Krautworx St Food paired with Greenwood’s very own brews. Come ready to laugh on Friday night at the Oktoberfest Comedy Show (7:30-9:45 p.m.), and don’t forget to break out your best Bavarian attire on Saturday night for a chance to win prizes in the “Best Dressed German Costume Contest.” Reserve your tickets here.

Downtown Chandler Oktoberfest – Sept. 27-28. Ticket Price: $16-64

Downtown Chandler is hosting its 15th annual Oktoberfest, and it’s not to be missed! The day kicks off at 3 p.m. with Oktoberfest games ranging from a brat-eating contest, wiener dog races, wiener toss, beer pong, a stein holding competition, and much more! After you’ve had your competitive fill, grab a local beer and grub, sit back, relax, and enjoy some live music. Tickets range from $16-64; reserve yours here.

Wickenburg Oktoberfest – Sept. 28. Ticket Price: $40-60

Award-winning German food trucks? Check. Live music? Check. Lawn games and shenanigans? Double check. The Wickenburg Oktoberfest has it all. The event is open to all ages, beer and non-beer drinkers, and any four-legged friends! The event begins at 3 p.m. and goes until 7 p.m. Tickets range from general admission ($40) to VIP tickets ($60) — you can find tickets here.

Four Peaks Oktoberfest – Oct. 11-13. Ticket Price: $18-195

The Four Peaks Oktoberfest is a longstanding Tempe tradition (for over 50 years!). This weekend event offers fun for all ages. If you’re feeling competitive, sign up for the “Running for the Brats 10k, 5k, 1k” race, join in the Adult Volleyball game on Friday night, or participate in the Stein Holding Competition. If games aren’t your thing, sample the food and drink tents. From bratwursts to pretzels, carnival food, beers, and desserts, there’s something delicious for everyone. Four Peaks Oktoberfest also offers a Jägermeister VIP Backstage Experience, a Kinderfest for kids, and a large carnival. This event is not to be missed — get your tickets here

 

2024 Oktoberfest events in northern Arizona

Flagstaff Oktoberfest – Oct. 5. Price: $0-10

Live music, Bavarian beer, and mountain views are hard to beat. Head downtown to the heart of Flagstaff for their annual Oktoberfest. The party kicks off at 10 am and ends at 9 pm. The day is packed with competitive games, including a brat-eating contest, a wiener dog race, a stein-holding contest, a frozen t-shirt contest, and more! There’s also a Mug Root Beer Garden where kids can enjoy FREE root beer floats, arts and crafts vendors, corn hole, and other lawn games. 2024 Oktoberfest events in southern Arizona

Sierra Vista Oktoberfest – Sept. 13-15. Price: FREE

Oktoberfest is Sierra Vista’s largest and most fun festival of the year. The weekend is filled with activities for all ages, including a Tapping of the First Keg, Oktoberfest 5K, Post Race Kick-Off Party, Keg Rolling Contest, Stein Holding Contest, and more! Choose from a variety of delicious, bavarian cuisine and beers while you enjoy live entertainment, a biergarten, the carnival, and arts and craft vendors. Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley Oktoberfest – Sept. 21-Oct. 13. Price: $5

Head to Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley’s Oktoberfest any weekend from Sept. 21 through Oct. 13. You’ll enjoy German beer, authentic Oktoberfest food, live traditional German-style music, dancing on the large outdoor dance floor, and children’s games.
