Joe Biden gained another endorsement from an Arizona Democrat on Thursday.

As Arizona’s Presidential Preference Election approaches on March 17, some lawmakers are rallying support for their favorite candidates.

Here’s who Arizona’s Democratic representatives have endorsed so far:

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema

On Thursday, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden.

“I am voting for former Vice President Joe Biden – a pragmatic, practical leader best positioned to get things done for everyday families,” she said in a tweet.”

We certainly don’t agree on every issue; I always vote for Arizona first. Vice President Biden is authentic, genuine, and has a track record of building bipartisan coalitions to achieve results. Not all candidates in this race represent those Arizona values. Joe Biden does.”

Senate Candidate Mark Kelly

Former NASA astronaut Mark Kelly is challenging Republican Sen. Martha McSally for her seat this fall. Kelly endorsed Biden on Monday.

“Joe Biden understands the challenges Arizonans face and knows what it’s like to be knocked down, get back up, and keep serving others,” he said on Twitter. “We need a president who will unite us and find common ground to get things done. That’s why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden.”

Rep. Raul Grijalva

Rep. Raul Grijalva endorsed Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who dropped out of the race Thursday, after he backed Sen. Bernie Sanders in 2016.

“Elizabeth Warren is a bold, persistent, visionary leader who cares about working families – and because of this, she’s won my endorsement,” he tweeted in July 2019.

The Copper Courier has reached out to Grijalva’s office to see if he plans to endorse someone else.

Rep. Ruben Gallego

Rep. Ruben Gallego announced his support for Sen. Kamala Harris in September 2019. However, she dropped out of the race in December.

Gallego said last month he will not endorse another candidate until after Arizona’s election.

Rep. Greg Stanton

On Sunday, Rep. Greg Stanton endorsed Biden.

“This election is the most important in modern history, and Joe Biden is the best choice to defeat Donald Trump and unite and heal our country,” he said on Twitter.

Others

Reps. Tom O’Halleran and Ann Kirkpatrick have not announced endorsements. The Copper Courier reached out to their offices to see if they plan to, but they did not immediately respond.

Biden has also picked up endorsements from state Reps. Alma Hernandez, Cesar Chavez, and Myron Tsosie, as well as Arizona Corporation Commissioner Sandra Kennedy.
