Newly surfaced bodycam footage shows state Rep. Alexander Kolodin (R-Scottsdale) handcuffed during a 2020 traffic stop, two years before he was elected. Now he’s running to be Arizona’s top election official.
Police stopped the car for having no visible plates, then said a passenger tossed an “unidentifiable shiny object” out the window.
Kolodin denied it, but police found a can of Smirnoff Spiked near the scene and ticketed him for littering.
He was cuffed after officers found a gun in the car, though it turned out the gun belonged to the driver, not Kolodin.
