Voters can cast their ballot at any of the 151 polling locations throughout Maricopa County.

Voters in Maricopa County will be able to cast their votes in the August primary at any polling location.

Polling locations will be open from July 8 through August 4, including some nights and weekends, according to the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office

A judge made the decision after the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and th Maricopa County Recorder’s Office had announced conflicting plans for this year’s primary election.

According to the Arizona Republic, about 80 polling locations will be cut on election day because of poll workers canceling and a lack of cleaning supplies to have at every single polling location.

The rest of the 151 polling locations will become “vote centers” — locations where any registered voter can go and cast their ballot. Voters do not need to go to their nearest polling site if it’s inconvenient.

On its official website, the Maricopa County Elections Department says that in light of COVID-19, they want to make sure voters are aware of all of their options to cast their votes for both the primary on August 4, and also the general election on November 3.

Maricopa County voters can also make either a one-time or a permanent request to vote by mail from home. In-person voting will also be available up to 27 days before Election Day.

“We are in unchartered territory with the COVID-19. My first concern is to protect the health of the voters and staff who work in the polling places while maintaining the integrity of the election,” Maricopa County Recorder Fontes said in a statement. “Anything we can do to minimize human interaction in the polling place is what we must do.”

Go to BeBallotReady.Vote to see if you’re registered to vote and see what’s on the ballot.
