Puff, puff, pass: The best 4/20 promos and parties around the Valley

The term “420” has long been code for marijuana—and even though those who partake in cannabis don’t need to speak in code anymore, 4/20 remains an annual celebration in every stoner’s heart. And it just so happens to fall on a Saturday this year, which means the parties and deals are going to be even more epic.

From killer promotions at your favorite Valley-wide dispensaries (we’re talking BOGOs galore and up to 80% off!) to festivals with free food, live music, and giveaways, we’ve got the 411 on how to spend your 4/20.

JARS: April 1-20

Why only celebrate on a single day when you can celebrate all month long? JARS is doing four giveaways a day for 20 days, and everyday purchases are automatically entered to win items like Apple Vision Pros, $1,000 cash, gaming systems, and more. On April 20, four lucky shoppers will win $5,000 cash, and all purchases are BOGO. Look for free food at select sites (JARS Mesa, 24th Street, Phoenix Metrocenter, and 27th Avenue locations), food trucks, onsite vendors, and doorbusters on various brands. 

Cannabist Tempe: April 15-21

Stretching 4/20 into a weeklong savings event, Cannabist Tempe is offering different deals each day. Starting with BOGO 60% off the entire store from April 15-18, then BOGO 70% off on April 19, BOGO 80% off on April 20 (with additional doorbuster BOGOs for the big day!), and BOGO 70% off on April 21. 

Mint Cannabis: April 19-20

On Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, Mint Cannabis’ six Valley-wide locations will host rasta-themed celebrations with prizes, giveaways, and a curated list of rasta tunes from a local DJ. Listen to the melodic beats while snacking on Jamaican cuisine—including free, uninfused Jamaican jerk chicken tacos from a food truck in the store parking lots on April 19 and infused Jamaican-inspired desserts available for purchase from the Mint’s cannabis kitchen in Tempe. Stick around for more than $100,000 in giveaways and prizes. Swag bags will be distributed at 8 a.m., 4:20 p.m., and 7:10 p.m. on both days. Customers who dress up like Bob Marley will receive a free pre-roll (one per customer during the two-day celebration), and customers who make a purchase of $25 or more either day will receive a free medicated item from the Mint. 

Story Cannabis Company: April 18

Story Cannabis Company invites the community to an early 4/20 celebration at Story North Chandler (17006 S. Weber Drive). The “Reefer Roadshow” features a drive-in movie screening of “Half Baked,” several cannabis vendors, food and drinks, and goodie bags containing about $100 worth of products on Thursday, April 18. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. Tickets are $35 per car and include a burger, drink, bag of popcorn, and two cannabis goodie bags valued at $100. 

Buds-A-Palooza: April 19

It’s time for the third annual Buds-A-Palooza Music and Cultural Festival, taking place downtown in Roosevelt Row on April 19. The festival kicks off at precisely 4:20 p.m. (of course!) and concludes at midnight. Buds-A-Palooza will highlight Southwest counterculture just one day before the 4/20 holiday. This year’s festival will feature music artists on the OGeez! Main Stage, comedians, films, glass-blowing competitions, live mural artists, food, beverages, and art vendors in the Munchie Mall. Tickets are $35 and the event takes place at Fifth Street and Garfield in Roosevelt Row. 

Marigold: April 20

On 4/20, Marigold will offer 50% off 20+ brands—including Aeriz, Fig Farms, Daze Off, Stiiizy, Mellow Vibes, Pure & Simple, and Select—plus goodie bags for patients who spend more than $60 in store. From 8 to 10 a.m., Marigold will be serving free gourmet java from Soundtrack coffee and muffins from RubyRed Confections. Vendors will be on-site with various deals all day.

Arizona Organix: April 20

Arizona Organix—located in the heart of Glendale—will be offering a wide variety of BOGO and 50% off deals on 4/20, plus doorbuster deals on Wyld gummies. Deals include 30% off all Timeless products, 40% off all Ogeez products, BOGO all Mfused products, 50% off all Daze Off products, and BOGO all Keef drinks.

22Red: April 20-22

The event helps extend the celebration of 4/20 for one more day with food trucks, brunch and mimosas, giveaways, music, art installations, and merchandise. Don’t miss the educational sessions, where attendees will learn about different strains of cannabis. The event starts at noon and runs through 8 p.m.; tickets are required.
