Want to volunteer for a cause you’re passionate about? These Arizona advocacy groups can use help

These advocacy groups have volunteer opportunities for everyday Arizonans to get involved in creating political change.

The results of this year’s elections were unsettling to many Arizonans, as Donald Trump was elected to a second term and Republicans gained power across the state.

The platform that Trump and others in his party ran on included mass deportations, rollbacks on LGBTQ+ rights, major cuts to public education, restrictions on abortion access, and other policies that impact people across the state.

The fears that this election has stirred up are motivating some people to get more involved in their community. In response, The Copper Courier put together a list of volunteer opportunities that includes food banks, mentoring programs, and more.

But if you’re wanting to get involved in a more political way, these advocacy groups have opportunities for everyday people to get involved.

Examples of volunteer opportunities with these groups include signing petitions, writing op-eds to send to media organizations, giving testimony to members of the Arizona Legislature, calling and sending emails to legislators, speaking with or writing to voters, and tabling at events.

Note: We tried to categorize these organizations by the main issue they represent, but some of the organizations overlap across multiple topics.

Support Our Cause

Thank you for taking the time to read our work. Before you go, we hope you'll consider supporting our values-driven journalism, which has always strived to make clear what's really at stake for Arizonans and our future.

Since day one, our goal here at The Copper Courier has always been to empower people across the state with fact-based news and information. We believe that when people are armed with knowledge about what's happening in their local, state, and federal governments—including who is working on their behalf and who is actively trying to block efforts aimed at improving the daily lives of Arizona families—they will be inspired to become civically engaged.
