Last month, I covered a hot-dog eating contest at Sidewinder in my newsletter. I have possibly an even weirder event to share with you today.
On June 25, you may see lots of people in suits and neatly trimmed (or drawn-on) facial hair in downtown Phoenix.
That’s because Welcome to Arizona and Rafi Law Group are holding a Rafi look-alike contest.

Who is Rafi, you may ask? Look up while you’re driving on a Valley freeway and you’re likely to see his face. The accident attorney is known for his prolific billboard advertising, to the point that he has become a local meme.
The contest will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on the ninth floor of X Phoenix. The prizes are $2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second, and $1,000 for third.
I saw someone cosplaying as Rafi at Phoenix Fan Fusion and it brought me great joy. I hope they turn out to the contest and make some money!

Support Our Cause
Thank you for taking the time to read our work. Before you go, we hope you'll consider supporting our values-driven journalism, which has always strived to make clear what's really at stake for Arizonans and our future.
Since day one, our goal here at The Copper Courier has always been to empower people across the state with fact-based news and information. We believe that when people are armed with knowledge about what's happening in their local, state, and federal governments—including who is working on their behalf and who is actively trying to block efforts aimed at improving the daily lives of Arizona families—they will be inspired to become civically engaged.
