Scottsdale residents held an emergency protest this morning after Senate Republicans advanced President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which includes $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts and $300 billion in SNAP cuts.
Lisa Hirsch, a local protester, called out Rep. David Schweikert for voting yes on the House version of the bill.
Schweikert, a self-described “budget hawk,” has long vocalized his support for reducing the national debt. But the Republican spending bill is projected to add $4 trillion to the deficit if passed by the House.
