There are a number of exemptions to the new federal work requirement that takes effect Jan. 1, 2027:
◻️ Veterans with total disability
◻️ Individuals who are “medically frail” or have special medical needs
◻️ Parents and caretakers of children age 13 and under or of a person with a disability
◻️ Pregnant individuals
◻️ Individuals under the age of 19 or 65 and older
◻️ Tribal members
◻️ Individuals compliant with SNAP or TANF work requirements
◻️ Individuals receiving substance use treatment
◻️ Individuals leaving incarceration
