Free Christmas lights in metro Phoenix
There are several options if you’re on a budget or not looking to spend much this year. Check out the Arizona LDS Temple Lights in Mesa, Glendale Glitters and these residential displays.
Arizona LDS Temple Lights in Mesa
A tradition since 1979, the Arizona Temple Lights in Mesa is hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and features music, photo opportunities and a nearly life-sized Nativity scene. Plus, every palm tree and cactus is decked in lights. It’s also free.

Glendale Glitters
One of metro Phoenix’s favorite holiday traditions is Glendale Glitters, and this year’s kickoff will take place the day after Thanksgiving Friday, Nov. 28, and on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 5-10 p.m. There will be local vendors, carolers and even Santa Claus himself.

Top residential holiday lights in metro Phoenix
Nearly 100 over-the-top displays will be on The Arizona Republic’s annual holiday lights map, which is used by individuals, bus tours, limo parties and others who have made cruising the Phoenix area in search of the biggest and brightest part of their holiday tradition.

Christmas at the Princess
It’s Christmas at the Princess’s sweet 16, and to celebrate, they are bringing a new light show to this year’s festivities. The world-famous celebration boasts elaborate displays with 10 million lights throughout the resort’s 65 acres, plus activities like ice skating, fire pits, an ice bar and more.

Las Noches de las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden
Arizona‘s Desert Botanical Gardens has been hosting the Las Noches de las Luminarias celebration for decades. Every December, the gardens are lit up with lights and luminarias and special Christmas experiences like “Sonoran Santa” and carolers are popping up.

Lights at the Farm
For 2025, Lights at the Farm has rebranded to the Valor Christmas Holiday Light Show and they’re promising a “bigger, brighter and more spectacular” event for this holiday season. Located in Gilbert, the Valor Christmas Holiday Light Show features synchronized LED light displays set to classic Christmas songs that you walk through.

World of Illumination in Glendale and Tempe
World of Illumination is a drive-through animated light show and has become a holiday tradition in Glendale and Tempe. Visitors will roll through over a mile of lights that are synchronized LED displays to festive music. Each location has its own special theme: Glendale is “Cosmic Sleighride” and Tempe is “Rockin’ Christmas.”

ZooLights is the longest-running holiday light show in metro Phoenix, and it provides a unique experience to see the zoo at night illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights. This is primarily a walking experience; however, the Zoo is bringing back the drive-through Cruise ZooLight for $150 per vehicle.
