Have you seen a navy blue Cybertruck on Arizona’s roads with the license plate “THXELON”?
The flashy vehicle belongs to Jay Feely, a former Arizona Cardinals player who is running for the US House in Arizona.
I asked what you all thought about Republicans using custom Cybertrucks to advertise their political campaigns, and here’s what you said:
💬 “For certain I am not their target audience. It represents a person (Musk) who I feel is horribly flawed and does not have our countries best interests in mind and is not representative of the values I hold dear. It’s also a ‘look at me’ moment when I’d prefer an action of good deeds, good leadership along with empathy and emotional intelligence.” — Doug T.
💬 “I find it ironic that politicians who don’t support clean power would use an electric vehicle for advertising purposes.” — Diane R.
💬 “Seeing a candidate’s choice for public campaign visuals such as a painted cyber truck makes it so easy to know who NOT to vote for. I don’t have to do any research on what the candidate’s policies and values are because they are in the literal driver’s seat of what they believe in.” — Toni R.
💬 “I guess it’s good marketing, but the last thing we need in Congress is another not serious celebrity sycophant, rubber stamp for Trump.” — Jim M.
💬 “It tells me it’s another millionaire Republican trying to buy his way to an election. It’s like putting a target on your back.” — Jerry S.
💬 “Cybertruck ownership makes it much easier to figure out which candidate I would never support.” — Kate F.
💬 “Gimmick that won’t resonate.” — Janet R.
💬 “Just owning a Tesla truck tells me everything I need to know about you. No need for all the decor.” — Kevin S.
💬 “I won’t vote for anyone advertising on a cyber truck. They are ridiculous vehicles. Besides that the republicans have displayed mostly anti-American behavior by moving away from democracy & the constitution. As an independent I won’t vote for any republican in the upcoming elections until they demonstrate a commitment to the separation of powers, church & state, and standing up for free elections without tampering from the highest levels.” — Tony R.
