Grab your red-headed friends, put on your best green outfits and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at one of metro Phoenix’s festive events.

Bars, restaurants and other groups across the Valley were set to host events for St. Patrick’s Day featuring festive food, drink and performances.

Some events are family-friendly, while others may be only for those over 21, but there is something for everyone on this list.

St. Patrick’s Day is on a Tuesday, March 17, this year, so many events are going on the Saturday before, so everyone can join in on the weekend fun.

Here are the best events going on in metro Phoenix on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Downtown Phoenix St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Faire

Celebrate the 43rd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Phoenix.

The parade is free to the public and features floats, dancers, bag pipers and more.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, and will begin on Oak Street and go south down Third Street, before heading west on Moreland Street, stopping down the street from Margaret T. Hance Park.

The Irish Faire will also be hosting festivities at Margaret T. Hance Park, right next to the parade. General admission for the Faire is $15, $12 for military and veterans with ID and free for kids under 12.

The Faire includes festive food and drink like corned beef and cabbage, and Irish beers and whiskeys. Emerald Green tickets can also be purchased for $60 for an exclusive 21+ experience, with whiskey and cigar tasting, mixology classes, and an exclusive limited-access bar.

Tickets and more information can be found at stpatricksdayphoenix.org.

Irish Fountain Fest in Fountain Hill

On Saturday, March 14, the country’s tallest fountain will spray green water for Fountain Hills’ annual Irish Fountain Fest.

The event is open to all ages and will feature entertainment, Irish food vendors, a beer garden and a kids’ zone with inflatables and face painting.

The fountain will spout green water two times during the festival; first at noon, then again at 4 p.m. Then, on St. Patrick’s Day, on Tuesday, the fountain will be green once more at noon to end the festivities.

Admission is free to the public and open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at Fountain Park.
