Moving into a new rental typically means you’ll also have to purchase plenty of new (or like new) décor and furniture. If you’re searching for ways to save on these items, you’re in luck. The Valley of the Sun is home to plenty of unique shops where you can find a wide variety of furniture and décor. From Western-inspired furniture to higher-end brand names for less, here are 11 Phoenix thrift/vintage stores you can buy décor for your rental.
White Dove Thrift Shoppe
Four locations in metro Phoenix
When you first walk into the Central Phoenix location of the White Dove Thrift Shoppe (there are four total), you’ll see plenty of plates, cups, and bowls stacked on the shelves to the left. This spot also has a great glass display facing Indian School Road showcasing what’s inside. I’ve seen televisions, couches, mirrors, and plenty of other housewares displayed here. Need a reason to feel good about shopping here? Used goods sold at this Central Phoenix thrift shop benefit the Hospice of the Valley.
Soda Pop Vintage
4824 N. Seventh St. in Central Phoenix
Soda Pop specializes in carrying mid-century modern furniture. Think pieces from the set of “Mad Men.” Check Soda Pop’s Instagram feed to see what’s in stock at any given time. We saw plenty of sofas, hip looking chairs, and modular dressers. No matter what, you’re guaranteed to find something unique that almost no one else will have.
Everything Goes
11649 Cave Creek Road in North Phoenix
Since 1995, Everything Goes has supplied the area with one-of-a-kind furniture and other goods from its 4,000 square-foot-space. Over 20 vendors sell goods in this shop. Check out the shop’s Instagram feed to see what’s currently in stock. A few highlights include a fiberglass spun table with a glass top that would look chic on a patio and a vintage French Rococo or an ornate wall-mounted shelf with a deep red backdrop that would be perfect for displaying knickknacks.
Dealers Depot Antique Mall
1401 S. McClintock Drive in Tempe
Tempe’s Dealers Depot Antique Mall’s tagline is “where every treasure tells a story.” Here, you’ll find an eclectic mix of goods and products. One booth featured picture frames, a mirror, wall décor, and a small distressed red dresser. We’ve also spotted plenty of antique-looking glass lamps here.
Lost & Found Resale Interiors
15520 N. Greenway Hayden Loop, Suite 100, in Scottsdale
Lost & Found Resale Interiors is a high-end consignment furniture store based in Scottsdale that’s been in business since 2012. Expect to find rugs, art, chandeliers, and a variety of furniture. Lost & Found Resale owner Jill Cooper, who has a background in design, remodeling, home interior staging, and personal shopping, specializes in interior design and strives to find top-notch pieces for affordable rates. Browse through the shop’s online store to see what to expect. A few highlights include a brown and cream French settee, a turquoise crackle chest, and a 19th -century French painted chest that’s primarily gray with red accents. Have any nicer pieces of furniture or decor that you’re ready to sell? Consider consigning them here.
My Sister’s Attic
Three locations in metro Phoenix
My Sister’s Attic is a very well known resale shop with three locations in metro Phoenix that carries a plethora of home goods. On its online store as of press time is a four-piece Swarovski crystal swans set, a rustic vanity table outfitted with a mirror, and a driftwood copper coffee table with a live edge or rough edge that resembles how the wood appeared in nature. Look forward to higher end brands here. A few we saw online included Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel, Natuzzi, and Living Spaces.
Lazy Lizard
6116 E. Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek
Cave Creek’s Lazy Lizard (don’t you just love that name?) stocks a variety of Southwestern and Western-inspired furniture. If you’d like to decorate your rental and give it a Western spin, consider checking out this place. Anticipate finding leather couches, wood tables, colorful textiles, and even cowboy boots here.
Lulu’s Town Dump
6006 E. Cave Creek Road in Cave Creek
Don’t let the name of this Cave Creek spot fool you. Lulu’s Town Dump is where plenty of treasures and trinkets can be found. Specifically, look forward to a colorful array of metal lawn art, hand blown glass, and Vietnamese pots, which can be decorative or functional. The setting alone is pretty spectacular. Enjoy wide open skies, cacti, and pots stacked everywhere outside. Nearly everything here is whimsical. The colorful and sculpted glass would look beautiful outside in every yard. If you’re searching for unique items for your patio or yard, you’ll likely find what you’re looking for at Lulu’s.
3 Vintage Chicks
13202 N. Cave Creek Road in North Phoenix
The name of this shop really says it all. Over 50 vendors call this spot home and sell their wares. On the shop’s Facebook page, we spotted vintage glasses, a dark blue dresser, and plenty of holiday décor. Looking to mingle with other vintage fans? Head here on the second Friday of each month from 5 to 8 p.m. for the store’s Chicks Night Out. Enjoy browsing for vintage furniture as you enjoy food, drinks, and conversation.
Crate & Barrel Outlet
3445 W. Frye Road in Chandler
Although not a true vintage shop, Crate & Barrel does have an outlet—one of just a handful in all of North America—in Chandler so you can save on top-quality furniture. Like most outlets, inventory here rotates daily as the store receives shipments from other Crate & Barrel stores and the brand’s offshoots, CB2 and Crate&kids. Keep in mind that some of the furniture may have minor defects or be damaged in some way. The store notes on its website that furniture is first come, first serve. This outlet is closed on Thursdays. On its Instagram page, it lists a custom three-piece leather sectional in charcoal for sale. Check out the outlet’s social media feeds to see various deals like an extra 25% off furniture or 40% off beds.
Anthropologie Home Outlet
4290 E. Warner Road, Suite 147, in Gilbert
Although Anthropologie is mostly known for its boho chic clothing and is not a thrift shop, the brand also has some pretty unique home offerings. This outlet is closed on Thursdays. Head over the outlet’s Instagram page to see what’s in stock. A few recent videos show mirrors, décor, dresses, and plenty of gold light fixtures with the brand’s signature modern, yet retro style.
If you’re looking for ways to furnish your new rental for less, metro Phoenix is home to plenty of options to suit different styles and budgets. Happy hunting!
