Since I mentioned above that the average rent in Phoenix is $1,850 a month, let’s look at some spots that are cheaper than that.
💸 For $1,800 a month: This three-bed, 2.5-bath near 43rd Avenue and Baseline Road has a roomy 1,519 square feet. It’s available Sept. 18 and allows small dogs. And as a bonus: The owner covers all utilities. The listing for this home is something I’ve never seen before—it’s written as a letter from the voice of the home to the prospective tenant. Here’s part of it:
“I was born in 2002 and have been a rental home with the same owners since 2004. Over the years, I’ve seen some things. Some tenant families have treated me wonderfully. Others well, let’s just say they left me with stories I’m not prepared to discuss this early in our relationship.”
💸 For $1,399 a month: This one-bed, one-bath is right near the Arizona Capitol. The 850-square-foot home in a historic neighborhood has a clawfoot tub, a fireplace, built-in shelving, a front porch, and a backyard. It’s available now, and small dogs are allowed. Tenants must pay $75 a month for utilities and $65 a month for landscaping.
💸 For $1,350 a month: This two-bed, two-bath has a light blue, beachy exterior. The 1,000-square-foot manufactured home built in 2019 is near Bell Road and Third Avenue and has a carport. It looks like there’s access to a community pool, but I’d double check on that. It’s available now—whether pets are allowed is unclear.
