After touring the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in Texas, US Rep. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona described the lasting physical and psychological trauma she says immigration detention inflicts on families.
Ansari joined other Democratic lawmakers in calling for the facility’s closure after officials said it was holding more than 500 people, including 112 children and infants as young as 2 months old.
