Voters of Tomorrow, the nation’s largest Gen Z-led voter engagement organization, is endorsing incumbent Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs for governor and US Marine and Army veteran JoAnna Mendoza for the US House, the Copper Courier has exclusively learned.

Mendoza is running in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District—spanning parts of Tucson, Eloy, Casa Grande, Sierra Vista, and more— against incumbent US Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-Tucson) in a race the Cook Political Report deems a “toss-up.” Hobbs is running for reelection and has a nearly 17-point advantage over her GOP opponent, US Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Gilbert).

The endorsement comes as President Donald Trump travels to Bullhead City to host a “Get out the vote” rally with Biggs. As Trump’s polling numbers drop, and Arizonans voice dissatisfaction with the economy under a Republican government, how Arizona voters vote could determine party control of the US House, as well as  down-ballot races.

“Young voters are being robbed of their future by MAGA and right wing extremists. Housing, groceries, healthcare, education… none of it is affordable, but Katie Hobbs and JoAnna Mendoza are fighting back for us,” Santiago Mayer, founder and executive director of Voters of Tomorrow, said in a written statement. “We deserve a future we can actually live in.”

What does the endorsement mean?

The group will support the Democratic candidates through phone banks, digital organizing efforts, and peer-to-peer outreach to get in touch with more than 35,000 Arizona students and encourage them to vote.

Across the country, the group is working to mobilize the more than 50 million members of Gen Z who are eligible to vote in the 2026 midterm elections. The group is investing $1 million this midterm cycle into organizing efforts, as first reported by COURIER.

“Young people using their voices today is what makes this moment so meaningful. If our votes weren’t so powerful, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to keep us from the ballot box,” said Kaya Jones, senior director of programming at Voters of Tomorrow.

Election Day is Nov. 3. Early voting is already underway, and the last recommended day to mail in your ballot is Oct. 27. After that, election officials recommend dropping it off at a drop-off location.
