In a new interview with 12 News, US Rep. Andy Biggs—who is currently running for governor—acknowledged he was aware of allegations that the FLDS cult was abusing underage girls.
Biggs has faced intense backlash following a Washington Post report highlighting his role in killing a 2013 bipartisan bill.
That legislation aimed to rein in the Colorado City Marshal’s Office, which the DOJ found acted as an enforcement arm for the polygamist sect.
Biggs claimed he opposed the bill because police unions did—while confirming he knew what was happening in Colorado City.
