Arizona is home to more than 150 data centers, partly thanks to tax exemptions that made the state look enticing to developers.
But that’s about to change. Arizona Democrats secured a 3–year long freeze on new data center tax incentives as part of a bipartisan budget deal signed by Gov. Katie Hobbs.
House Democratic Leader Rep. Oscar De Los Santos praised the move and said the money would be rerouted to Arizona communities, instead.
