National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Arizona already has events planned at Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University.
If you want to organize something where you live, the event itself can stay simple: Choose a place people already use, line up a few helpers and make sure attendees know where to find reliable election information.

Pick the place and ask for local support
Start with a location people already use and get permission before promoting the event.
You can also look to organizations already doing civic engagement work in Arizona. Rural Arizona Action, a group The Copper Courier has worked with, lists voter registration drives among its ongoing rural programs.
One Arizona coordinates organizations across the state working on voter registration and civic engagement.
Those are places to look for local experience and connections, not guarantees that an organization will staff or co-host your event.

There are also free communications templates and downloadable posters and signs.
The Sept. 3 deadline to sign up as a community partner for a free printed poster has passed, but downloadable materials remain available in several languages, including Spanish, Chinese and Tagalog.
Add a Courier resource to your setup

For questions that require official election information, point attendees to their county or state election office.
Make the event easy to navigate
You do not need a large team.
Assign one person to handle logistics, another to manage promotion and partner outreach and, if useful, someone to take photos with permission.
Think about clear signage, language access and whether the venue is easy to enter and move through.
Promote it and keep it nonpartisan
Share the event through flyers, social media, community partners and local media.
