A few weeks ago, I finally got the chance to visit The Pemberton in downtown Phoenix for the first time since its 2025 remodel.
The Pemberton is kind of hard to explain—it’s a maze-like site that’s full of bars, food areas, art installations, a pool, and unique seating arrangements.

Its various bars, which are mostly outdoors, have different names and themes, so you can wander around and find new drinks to try all night.
I grabbed a mocktail and took a lap, looking at all the different art. It was fun not knowing what I’d see every time I turned a corner—and I was often pleasantly surprised.
The Pemberton hosts lots of events, like pool parties, karaoke, trivia, drag shows, movie nights, and singles meetups. I’m looking forward to going back when it’s a little cooler out!

You may have heard about No Kings protests since the first one took place on June 14, 2025.
The events are part of a nationwide movement to push back against the actions of President Donald Trump’s administration and billionaires.

The last one took place on March 28, 2026, with more than 70 protests in Arizona alone.
The next No Kings protest is coming up on Oct. 17, and it will have a focus on voting early in the midterm elections. There are already nearly 20 actions planned in Arizona, with likely more to pop up in the coming weeks.
What do you think about the No Kings protests? Have you attended one? Let me know, and I’ll include some responses in Wednesday’s newsletter!
