Sometimes my favorite part of a trip is finding a local spot to cozy up in.
When I visited Flagstaff last weekend, it rained a bit more than I expected, so I was grateful to be staying right near the Northern Pines diner.

I ended up going there for a breakfast twice as well as once for a late-night dessert.
I love when local restaurants offer both affordable prices and a delicious menu, and Northern Pines really delivered on both. I’m still thinking about the hollandaise sauce on these crepes a week later.
Because the district is highly favored for Democrats, Lopez is likely to win the general election and join the Arizona Legislature.

The issues Lopez campaigned on included making housing more affordable, getting rid of Arizona’s universal school voucher system, freezing public university tuition, and investing in alternative energy.
Other self-identified Democratic Socialists who have taken office include New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Bobby Nichols, who won a Tempe City Council seat.
