“The vice president believes it’s not the time to just build it back the way things were before … it’s time to imagine and build a new American economy for the next generation.”
President Donald Trump’s “America First” mantra just got a major challenger: Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda.
On Thursday afternoon, the former vice president and presumptive Democratic nominee will unveil a $700 billion plan geared toward economic revitalization in the U.S.
According to The Hill, the Biden team said the plan will aim to create five million new jobs in addition to restoring the millions of jobs lost this year in the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s an aggressive plan,” a senior campaign official said. “The vice president believes it’s not the time to just build it back the way things were before … it’s time to imagine and build a new American economy for the next generation … that will cut everyone into the deal.”
