Megan Brown made the trip early to personally deliver her ballot, feeling “it is one small thing she can do to support the postal service.”

A research and social work professor at ASU, Megan feels strongly about the policy that can affect human development, making her a strong supporter of the Invest in Education Act, Prop. 208. She believes people have forgotten how important public education is.

“I really don’t believe in charter or private education for kids,” said Megan.

As she cast her vote, Megan hopes a new administration makes a strong push for public education and can implement big changes immediately at every level.

“Education is the foundation of democracy,” said Megan, who says an educated populace is critical to making informed and educated government decisions.

For Megan, voting represents her work with future social workers, women’s rights, and the hope to have an “honest and aggressive approach” to racism in the country. While voting at her early polling place, Megan feels people are waking up to support Arizona to make changes locally.
