It’s now easier than ever to get a vaccine in Arizona.
Nearly 3 million Arizonans have gotten at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The closer the state and rest of the country gets to herd immunity—when most of the population is immune to the coronavirus—the closer we get to returning to normal activities, like safely visiting family, attending concerts, and traveling.
That means each vaccine administered is a reason to celebrate. Research shows people who are vaccinated are less likely to be infected with COVID-19 and even less likely to get severely ill or die from the virus.
We put together two feel-good playlists for those exciting moments after getting the shot. You can listen during your 15-minute observation period after getting the vaccine, on the car ride home, or whenever you need a mood boost. (Warning: Some songs may contain strong language.)
Have any songs you think we should add? Let us know at [email protected].
Best of all, it’s now easier than ever to get a vaccine in Arizona. The state health department announced this week that appointments are no longer required to get a shot at one of the seven state-run sites. Those are located at:
- Gila River Arena in Glendale
- Desert Financial Arena in Tempe
- Dexcom Regional Distribution Center in Mesa
- WestWorld in Scottsdale
- University of Arizona in Tucson
- Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff
- Yuma Civic Center in Yuma
While appointments are recommended to keep wait times down, all of the sites now accept walk-ins. Many state-run sites currently have same-day appointments available.
Arizonans can sign up to receive a vaccine at the state-run sites online or by calling 1-844-542-8201. Spanish-speaking residents can also call the state’s 2-1-1 hotline. Find your closest vaccine site here.
