Valentine’s Day was full of puppy love for these Phoenix park visitors.
Puppy lovers in the Valley enjoyed a little cuddle time with four nine-week-old puppies Friday at Civic Space Park as part of the Arizona Humane Society’s Cuddle Bunch program.
Jennifer Hershberger, the Humane Society’s outreach director, told The Copper Courier the program benefits both the animals and the people.
“It’s used as a socialization experience for the puppies, so they get to get out of the shelter, out of their foster home,” she said. “They get to see new sights, sounds, smells, stuff like that, and then it’s obviously great stress relief for people.”
The foster Boxer mixes were the happy recipients of a steady stream of pets and snuggles as they awaited adoption.
Hershberger said the pups will remain in foster care for a bit longer before some lucky people can take them home.
If you’re feeling the love, you can sign up to help the Arizona Humane Society provide for its cats and dogs. The Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion in south Phoenix will host a public volunteer event March 14, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
