Diamond anniversary celebration planned for February 2025

Lake Havasu State Park will host a free public celebration on Feb. 23, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring live music, guided hikes, and park tours. The event marks 60 years since the park’s establishment in 1965, which came shortly after Lake Havasu City’s founding.

From humble beginnings to premier destination

The park’s transformation over six decades reflects strategic development and careful conservation efforts. A defining moment came in 1971 with the installation of the famous London Bridge, which dramatically increased the park’s international appeal.

Bob Broscheid, Executive Director of Arizona State Parks and Trails, emphasized the park’s dual mission: “Lake Havasu State Park is a testament to how outdoor recreation and conservation can go hand in hand, preserving this stretch along the Colorado River and connecting people with Arizona’s natural beauty.”
