Check out the seven coolest Airbnbs in Arizona, from a literal mountain cave to a converted school bus.

Whether you’re seeking a weekend escape from the daily grind, a serene spot to immerse yourself in nature, or an inspiring space to work remotely in a different part of the state, Arizona has an abundance of one-of-a-kind Airbnb rentals waiting to be explored. From luxurious desert retreats to charming cabins nestled in the pines, these properties offer the chance to experience Arizona’s beauty from a fresh perspective.

Imagine soaking in a hot tub under Sedona’s starry skies, waking up to views of the rugged red rocks, or living out your tiny home fantasies in a converted school bus. This curated list features some of the coolest Airbnb stays across the Grand Canyon State, from quirky campers and tipis in a national forest to mansions with lazy rivers and treehouses.

1. Groovy Glamper Camper, Tucson

If you’ve always wanted to go glamping, then check out this vintage aluminum Boles camper. It’s set in the middle of an 11-acre desert sanctuary and sculpture park that’s adjacent to the Saguaro National Park, which means guests can relax in the stillness of the desert (it’s about 35 minutes from downtown Tucson). This retro stay comes with a private shower, sink, and dry compost toilet, so you won’t be totally roughing it—but don’t be surprised if you hear roosters and coyotes in this rural environment.

2. Uzu Dome, Sedona

Have you ever stayed in a domed domicile? Check it off your bucket list in Sedona, at the Uzu Dome—and bring all your friends, too. This unique architectural structure sits on seven acres right next to the iconic Oak Creek. Looks can be deceiving, as it actually offers 15,000 sq. ft. of space and has 16 bedrooms (sleeps 27), 10 bathrooms, three meditation rooms, two massage rooms, one office, an indoor yoga room, two hot tubs, and a swimming pool. It’s less than 10 minutes away from downtown Sedona, so you’ll have easy access to all the city has to offer.

3. Taylor Mountain Cave Inn Retreat, Dolan Springs

Yes, you can rent a room inside a cave, but are you brave enough to try it? The 6,000 sq. ft. Taylor Mountain Cave Inn Retreat north of Kingman was a 20-year DIY project for the owner and her husband. They reside in the front half of the property, and guests rent a room with a separate entrance that sleeps six and has one shared bathroom. The property runs off solar and generator power, and the water is welled to help conserve resources. Keep busy above ground playing darts and horseshoes, and don’t miss out on the epic hikes and sunsets.

4. Wild Treehouse Paradise, Prescott

From April through October, guests clamor for their chance to climb the winding steps to the Wild Treehouse Paradise built into the cliffs of Prescott’s Granite Dells. This rustic three-room property keeps things simple with a dresser, desk, chairs, and a queen-size futon bed. Plus, there’s a solarium-covered pool, pond, trampoline, hammock, and plenty of canyon trails to explore. Wildlife sightings aren’t uncommon, so be prepared. Offsite, nearby Watson is perfect for kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, and birdwatching, and the Heaven on Earth Retreat is just 300 yards away.

5. The Pool House, Scottsdale

The kids want a resort stay with a lazy river, but you want everyone to have their own bedrooms and some additional living space to spread out. Well, your entire wish list can be met with this Scottsdale mansion. The backyard features a half-million-dollar heated saltwater pool, lazy river, waterfall, slide, and a 10-person saltwater spa. Plus, there are also two putting greens, a cornhole, a shuffleboard, a basketball court, and a wood firepit. Inside, you’ll find seven bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, air hockey, foosball, and tons of board games.

6. Tonto National Forest Tipi, Young

Get a first-hand experience staying in one of the oldest forms of dwellings in this 24-foot tipi on a hillside in the Tonto National Forest. It’s set on a 30-foot redwood deck and a fun place to lay your weary head after a day spent hiking, hunting, or off-roading. There’s an outdoor cooking area plus an indoor heater and bed warmers to keep you cozy all night long. Taking a shower (no hot water!) is a surefire way to feel invigorated each day of your vacation, and the star gazing from this spot is incredible because there’s no light pollution.

7. The Magic School Bus, Cottonwood

The wheels on this bus don’t go round and round, but that’s OK because it’ll still be super cool to stay in a stationary full-size 1991 Bluebird International diesel school bus conversion. It’s surprisingly spacious inside with all the amenities guests desire, including a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom (outside). The bus is anchored on the edge of the Verde Rivers’ Riparian forest on the outskirts of Cottonwood in an area called Bridgeport, so you’re also close to Sedona and Jerome.
