5 places in Arizona to donate your clothes, shoes, and more

If you’re looking to make an impact while decluttering your home, there are a plethora of local organizations across Arizona looking to accept clothing, shoes, furniture, and other household items to benefit communities in need. We’ve compiled a list of five Goodwill alternatives to ensure that your donations help Arizonans in meaningful ways.

1. St. Joseph The Worker – Phoenix

St. Joseph the Worker helps individuals experiencing homelessness find employment, and by donating, you can help job seekers acquire attire for interviews and work. The store specifically needs items to stock their Workforce Villages and Employment Services clients. Although they are currently not accepting clothing, they are in need of items to stock their specific programs.

What They Accept: Cleaning supplies, kitchenware, stationery, and hygiene items

2. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona – Phoenix

By donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, all earned proceeds help fund the mentorship program that empowers Arizona’s youth. You can learn more about how and where to donate here.

What They Accept: Clothing, shoes, and small household items

3. Hope’s Closet Thrift Store – Goodyear

Hope’s Closet is a thrift store owned and operated by New Life Center, which helps support domestic violence survivors. All proceeds from Hope’s Closet support the New Life Center’s shelter operations, which offers emergency shelter to adults and children. By donating to Hope’s Closet, you help families receive basic needs and shelter.

What They Accept: Clothing, shoes, household items, accessories, books, furniture, vehicles, electronics

4. Andre House – Phoenix

Andrew House serves individuals experiencing homelessness by providing meals, clothing, and support services. Nearly 75% of the guests at Andre House are men and 25% are women. Currently, they do not have children as guests. Their website has lists of their most needed items and information about how to donate.  

What They Accept: Clothing, shoes, and hygiene items

5. Treasures 4 Teachers – Phoenix

Treasures 4 Teachers provides teachers with free or low-cost classroom supplies, ensuring that students have what they need to succeed. Individuals who work closely with students have access to materials, resources, and training that enhance the learning process for students. Treasures 4 Teachers is a donation-based operation which means they can provide low-cost and free supplies to members in Tempe, West Phoenix, and Tucson.

What They Accept: School supplies, carpet squares, wallpaper, fabric samples
