Sisters push young Arizonans to vote

At Aliento’s Election Night watch party in downtown Mesa, sisters Ana and Maria Tapia reflected on why they spent this cycle mobilizing Arizona voters—even though they cannot cast ballots themselves.

Working on grassroots outreach across the community, the sisters met many people who were disengaged or disillusioned.

“There were a lot of people who felt hopeless,” they shared, explaining why direct conversations and youth turnout efforts were crucial to helping people realize the power of their vote.
