Arizona is joining more than 20 states in suing the Trump administration over new Medicaid work requirement rules.
The lawsuit argues the administration changed the definition of who qualifies as “medically frail,” making it harder for people with serious illnesses and disabilities to receive exemptions.
State officials also say the policy could cause eligible people to lose their health coverage because of paperwork and reporting hurdles—not because they aren’t working. If the lawsuit succeeds, it could shape how Medicaid work requirements affect millions of Americans.
