Happy election night!

Early results have been looking good for Democrats, with two major races in Arizona already called in their favor.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on votes coming in and share updates in tomorrow’s newsletter, which will arrive a little later than normal. For now, it’s time for some rest. 😴

Democrat Katie Hobbs has defeated Republican Andy Biggs in the race for Arizona governor, according to Decision Desk HQ, which called the race for Hobbs at 8:11 p.m. MST. Hobbs secures a second term in the governor’s office, overcoming millions in conservative attack ads and turning back her second consecutive general election challenge from a Trump-aligned Republican. Her victory keeps Arizona’s executive branch in Democratic hands for another four years.

Democrat JoAnna Mendoza, a Marine Corps and Navy veteran, has unseated Republican US Rep. Juan Ciscomani in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, according to Decision Desk HQ, which called the race for Mendoza at 8:12 p.m. MST. Mendoza flips the battleground border district, unseating Ciscomani after two terms.

In Arizona’s 1st Congressional District—one of the country’s most closely watched swing seats—Democrat Amish Shah led Republican Jay Feely 55% to 43%, with 74% of votes in.
