One of my favorite ways to beat the heat during an Arizona summer is to go out for ice cream.
After recommendations from multiple people, I knew I needed to try Salt & Straw, especially now while it has its limited-time berry flavors.

I went to the Gilbert location, but there are also Salt & Straw shops in Phoenix and Tempe.
I ordered the Birthday Cake and Blackberries flavor, and it was, as expected, very sweet and delicious. I wish I had sampled a few others that sound so good, like Strawberry Pretzel Salad and Salted, Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
If you like trying flavors that are a little out there, you can find some adventure in Goat Cheese Marion Habanero, Pear and Blue Cheese, and Huckleberry Oat Crisp with Foraged Porcini.
If none of these sound good to you (and that’s hard to imagine…), Salt & Straw releases new flavors every month, so you can check back to see what gets added to the menu. You can also take pints home with you if you find one that you need to get through the summer!

On Monday, we talked about the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act becoming law.
President Donald Trump said he wouldn’t sign the bill unless Congress passed the SAVE America Act.
After the housing bill came to his desk, he had 10 days to either sign it, veto it, or do nothing and let the bill become law by default. It took effect July 11 without his signature.
Here’s what you said about the legislation:
đź’¬ “It’s long overdue for a Bipartisan Bill. This is for the GOOD of the people. While the Save America Act is simply Voter Suppression. Trump wants to cheat.” — Rhonda G.
Keep sending in your comments—if I get some more, I’ll post them to the website later today!

When wildfires strip the land bare and bake the soil, monsoon storms can run straight off those areas and turn into flash floods and debris flows.
