Maikol Carreno, a 24-year-old asylum seeker from Yuma, was in the middle of giving a haircut when ICE agents detained him at work.
He has lived in the US since 2023 and is expecting his first child with his wife, Neyllin McCowan, a US citizen, within the next month, according to McCowan. She said Carreno is currently being held at the Eloy Detention Center as his immigration case proceeds.
