Amazon drone deliveries are coming to the West Valley later this year.
Amazon started same-day drone deliveries in College Station, Texas, and Lockeford, California, in 2022. That same service will soon launch in Tolleson.
The company said in a press release Monday that it is working with local officials in Tolleson and the Federal Aviation Administration to get necessary permissions to operate the drone deliveries in the area.

Those drones will be deployed from the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Van Buren Street and 107th Avenue.
“This kind of delivery is the future, and it’s exciting that it will be starting in the Phoenix Metro Area,” Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said in a press release. “The shift toward zero-emission package delivery will help us reduce local pollution and further cement our city as a hotbed for the innovative technology of tomorrow.”

Packages will be delivered by Amazon’s MK30 drone, which can deliver items under five pounds.
Amazon has not yet announced a date for when the service will begin.
