OPINION: Vote for Yassamin Ansari to move our state forward

The stakes of this election are incredibly high.

It will decide whether fundamental freedoms are protected, how we can fight back against climate change, and what the future of our democracy will look like. Democrats on every level– from the presidency to Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District, and all the way down the ballot– are ready to fight for a future that moves Arizona and our country forward. That’s why I am proud to be supporting Yassamin Ansari as the next representative of CD-03 who will play a pivotal role in ensuring Arizonans have a voice in Washington, DC.

Yassamin Ansari is an accomplished leader in our community as a former City Council member and Vice Mayor of the City of Phoenix. In the Phoenix City Council, Yassamin worked with other city leaders to pass the landmark Climate Action Plan, which outlines the city’s plan to achieve carbon neutrality and zero waste by 2050 or sooner.

As a climate policy expert, Yassamin has led bold efforts to clean up Phoenix’s air and water. In Congress, Ansari is committed to fighting to protect abortion rights, housing affordability, workers’ rights, and investing in education.

Ansari will be a strong advocate for our communities and work to advance our state. With her leadership in the US House and Kamala Harris in the White House, I’m confident that Democrats will continue delivering results for Arizona.
