When’s the last time you’ve wandered an area and stopped in the first coffee shop you saw?
That’s what I did earlier this summer when a friend was visiting and staying in downtown Phoenix.
We ended up at The Thread Cafecito, a Miami-style Cuban coffee shop connected to a thrift shop.

I had a sorrel tea, a hibiscus infusion that was perfectly sweet and so refreshing. It was something I’d never seen on a menu before and would definitely return for.
Besides coffee, The Thread also sells a Cuban milkshake calledbatido de mamey, papa rellenas, Cuban-style beans and rice, and a Cuban pressed sandwich.
If you find yourself downtown during the daytime, this would be a great spot for some caffeine or a quick meal!
Congress passed it last month, and it went into effect July 11. It was missing one thing, though: President Donald Trump’s signature.
He said he wouldn’t sign the bill unless Congress passed the SAVE America Act. After the housing bill came to his desk, he had 10 days to either sign it, veto it, or do nothing and let the bill become law by default.
